Bière de Dad is a malt driven beer of moderate to high strength, sometimes stored cool for an extended period of time to produce a smooth character modeled after the French Bière de Garde beers. This Amber version of the style features a blend of five different barley malts with both malted and unmalted wheat for added complexity and head retention.
We've included some corriander to accentuate the French grown Aramis hops that give this beer a distinctive character.
Can be ready in 5-6 weeks, but rewards cold storage for a couple of months by gaining in complexity and smoothness.
Base Malts: Belgian Pilsner, Maris Otter Pale and 20l Munich.
Specialty Grains: Special B, Biscuit, Wheat, Torrified Wheat.
Yeast: SafAle BE-134 (Belgian Saison, Dry).
Optional: Honey (not included).
Additional equipment needed, and not included: Grain Mill.
- If you are going to brew this right away, and would like your grains milled, just let us know in the comment section when ordering.
- If giving this kit as a gift, we don't recomment milling as the grains may become stale if milled and unused for a period longer than 7-10 days.
- If ordering from outside the United States. Please contact me for shipping rates before you order.
